The local candidate who actually cares for our environment

Reade Smith is a former Senior Constable with the Victoria Police, having been stationed at a number of local Police Stations including Rosebud, Mornington and Frankston. He retired from The Victoria Police to manage a Frankston based youth leadership and empowerment program called Youth At Risk.

Reade has 12 years local government experience as a former Shire Councillor with Mornington Peninsula Shire Council from 2000 to 2012 and was Mayor in 2005. Reade represented both the Mt Eliza and Cerberus wards during his four terms with the shire.

He is a member and founder of the UNESCO Westernport Biosphere, being a member of the board for eight years.  He is involved with a number of environment and social capacity building organisations and has received training from entities such as Be The Change, the ACF Climate Reality Project, Sustainability Street and Transition Towns.

Reade represented Victorian Local Governments at the 2009 COP15 Climate Conference in Denmark where he gained valuable knowledge about the planets changing climate and has also represented the UNESCO WesternPort Biosphere at a number of international conferences.

He is currently employed as a Foreshore Ranger with a Victorian Council bordering Port Phillip Bay.

Reade Smith is representing #Sustainable Australia as the Victorian Branch President as well as the the parties Candidate for the Division of Flinders.
